Legal basis means that there is support in legislation. The legal basis shows, in this context, why it is necessary for us to process your personal data.

Personal and contact information

  • First and last name
  • Delivery and billing address
  • Contact information such as email address and phone number

Purpose: Information collected so that we can process your order and deliver your products, but also so that we can send you targeted offers that we believe will be of value to you.

Legal basis: in order to achieve the purpose of "managing your order", the legal basis for processing personal data corresponds to the possibility of fulfilling a purchase contract between Tessit and you as a customer when you make a purchase. In order to achieve the purpose of "sending you targeted offers", the legal basis corresponds to fulfilling Tessit's legitimate interest in the development of business activity.

Storage period: until the completion of the purchase (including delivery and payment) and thereafter for a reasonable period or up to seven years for data processed in accordance with the Accounting Act.

Payment Information

  • Credit and debit card information (card number, validity date, and CVV code)

Purpose: Information collected so that the payment service provider can confirm and verify your identity when you pay for your order.

Legal Basis: Your payment information is not managed or stored by Tessit, as only the payment service provider has access to your payment information. The payment provider is therefore responsible for the personal data for this type of data and it is therefore not necessary for us to manage this data.

Information on purchased products

  • Details of products you have purchased

Purpose: Information collected to be able to handle any returns and complaints, as well as to help you with customer service issues.

Legal Basis: Required to comply with applicable legislation related to the purpose.

Storage Period: Until the completion of the purchase (including delivery and payment) and thereafter for a reasonable period or up to seven years for data processed in accordance with the Accounting Act.

Purpose: Information collected to improve our services, develop products and features, and for general business development.

Legal basis: necessary to satisfy Tessit's legitimate interest to be able to evaluate our services, improve and develop the business.

Storage time: from collection and thereafter for a reasonable time.

Device information

  • IP address
  • Language settings, browser settings, geographic location, time zone, etc.
  • Operating system, platform, screen resolution, etc.

Purpose: Information collected in order to perform risk analysis and prevent fraud.

Legal basis: necessary to satisfy Tessit's legitimate interest to be able to solve problems and develop the business.

Storage time: from collection and thereafter for a reasonable time.

 

4. How do we protect your personal information?

 

Tessit uses encrypted communication, via Secure Socket Layer (SSL), to ensure that your personal information remains protected during checkout. Your credit card information is only handled by your payment service provider during a secure, encrypted connection.

We also protect our websites and other systems through technical and organizational measures against the loss, destruction, access, modification or dissemination of your information by unauthorized persons.

We always endeavor to process your data within the EU/EEA. However, there may be situations where your data may need to be transferred to and processed in countries outside of the EU/EEA. For example, if we share your personal data with a data controller who, either itself or through a subcontractor, is located or stores the information in a country outside of the EU/EEA. In these cases, the controller may only obtain information that is relevant for the purpose (e.g. log files). Tessit will, therefore, take all reasonable legal, technical and organizational measures to ensure that your data is handled securely and at the same level of protection offered within UE/SEE.

 

5. With whom may your personal information be shared?

 

Your personal information is handled only by Tessit and selected third parties, described below.

  • Transport and logistics companies: Tessit shares your personal information with transport and logistics companies in order to manage and deliver your order.
  • Payment Service Providers and Similar Providers: Your personal information may be shared with credit check agencies and similar service providers so that our payment providers are able to assess your creditworthiness when you request one of the payment methods we offer and to confirm your identity and address.
  • Authorities: Tessit may provide the necessary information to authorities such as the police, Italian Revenue Agency or other authorities if they are required to do so by law.
  • Marketing service providers: Tessit may share your personal information with marketing service providers in order to send you targeted offers.
  • Subcontractors and similar providers: Tessit may share your personal information with subcontractors and similar providers to fulfill our obligations to you.

Your personal information will not be shared with unauthorized persons. We never sell or trade your personal information with third parties.

  • Right to data portability: you have the right to request that your personal data be transferred to another data controller (so-called data portability). A prerequisite for data portability is that the transfer is technically possible and automatable.
